BOTOX
Botox® Cosmetic is approved for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18-65. Botox® visibly smoothes and softens those lines by simple and quick injections. The result can last several months to a year.

LIP AUGMENTATION:
Lip augmentation creates fuller, plumper lips and reduces fine wrinkles around the mouth. Lips may be injected with Juvéderm® (Hyaluronic Acid). The procedure is simple and your comfort is enhanced by a complimentary dental block.

DERMAL FILLERS
Radiesse (Calcium Hydroxylapatite) is approved for treatment of severe facial wrinkles and pronounced skin folds. It immediately adds fullness to your face yielding visible results with the first treatment.

PERMANENT MAKE UP
Permanent Make-up is the perfect solution to enhance eyebrows, eyes and lips and camouflage scars without the hassle of applying make-up every single day. Just imagine having that perfect make-up all the time without the worry of faded or smudged makeup.

MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion uses micro-particles to remove the most superficial portion of the epidermis and stimulate new skin growth. This is a safe non-invasive skin re-surfacing treatment that produces virtually no discomfort. Jets of fine crystals are sprayed across the skin’s surface, then quickly vacuumed, leaving the skin polished and revitalized. With repeated treatments it is very effective in reducing sun damage, the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and clogged pores.

DERMAPLANING
Dermaplaning is a manual, non-invasive, skin resurfacing procedure using a special surgical blade to remove the top layers of dead skin cells and fine facial hair. It improves the appearance of acne scarred skin and smoothes out facial wrinkles on the upper layers of the face. It is also an excellent treatment for melasma and environmentally damaged skin. During your treatment, your provider will hold your skin taught with one hand while gently scraping the scalpel blade against the skin. You will feel little to no discomfort. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will feel soft and very smooth to touch.

CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels are used to treat lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, skin discoloration, age spots, dull skin texture, and mild acne scars by applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin and stimulate new skin growth. The new skin is usually smoother, less wrinkled, and more even in color. Chemical peels may produce reddening and peeling similar to sunburn, which typically lasts a few days to several weeks, depending on the strength and depth of the peel.

FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment to diminish wrinkles, decrease puffiness and bags under the eyes, and tone facial muscles. Facial acupuncture improves skin tone by increasing blood and lymph flow to target areas, and recruiting more qi (pronounced “chee”) to the head. The results are a younger, refreshed look and improved complexion. Patients looking for a way to combat the effects of stress, hormone changes, or simply want to look as toned as possible will benefit from facial acupuncture.

THERAPEUTIC FACIAL
Although the word “facial” engenders thoughts of pampering and relaxation, a medical, or therapeutic, facial is different than the facial you receive at a spa. This treatment begins with a comprehensive clinical evaluation of skin characteristics. This type of facial is customized for each individual and utilizes techniques of deep cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating. Our medical facial treats all skin types and incorporates a variety of sophisticated techniques to ensure the most dramatic results.

PORE REDUCING/ACNE FACIAL
This deep pore-cleansing facial focuses on extractions to unclog and close pores, removing impurities from the skin. This treatment uses liquid nitrogen to close the pores and reduce inflammation.

Vitamin B-12 Deficiency
Vitamin B12, also called cobalamin, is a water soluble vitamin that plays a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and in the formation of blood cells. Anemia, neurological disorders, dementia, and skin disorders have all been linked to deficiency of vitamin B-12. With specific reference to skin disorders the breakdown of red blood cells and blood vessels from vitamin B-12 deficiency can lead to a condition known as purpura. Purpura can manifest as unsightly dark areas, especially under the eyes. Inflammation, dryness, and cracking in the corners in the mouth (perleche) can also be caused by vitamin B-12 deficiency. Ironically, vitiligo, or white patches, is also seen due to B-12 deficiency. Vitamin B-12 is essential to the formation of all cell types. Melanocytes (pigment producing cells) cannot perform the function of creating melanin without B-12. In some cases melanocytes are destroyed and do not replenish normally. A patient with a deficiency of vitamin B12 experiencing these symptoms will often find resolution of these white patches as soon as the vitamin is restored to normal levels. Unlike other water-soluble vitamins, B-12 is stored in substantial amounts, mainly in the liver, until it is needed by the body. Usually, the body's stores of this vitamin would take about 3 to 5 years to exhaust. But vitamin B-12 deficiency is known to exist, especially in the elderly and vegans. Once deficiency has developed profound measures are often taken to correct the problem. But unfortunately it is one of the most poorly absorbed vitamins in humans and humans cannot acquire this vitamin from plant sources. Even if animal sources are used oral intake results in slow absorption. The most efficient way to raise vitamin B-12 levels rapidly is by injection into the muscle. Vitamin B-12 levels are monitored by a simple blood test that is easily obtained in our office.
